About Scholarships
Gem State Jazz Camp offers a limited number of scholarships for students with demonstrated financial need or whose participation would enhance the camp experience — such as instrumentalists in high-need sections (like piano, bass, etc.).
We offer
half or full scholarships, though most awards cover
50% of tuition.
Scholarships may be awarded to:
- High school students who are able and willing to assist during the middle school camp — helping younger students with fingerings, scales, and technique during practice and combo coaching blocks across several days
- Diligent, independent middle school students who can serve as T.A.s during the high school camp
Scholarships are not guaranteed. All applications are reviewed by the GSJC faculty on a case-by-case basis, considering:
- Financial need
- Musical merit
- Instrumentation needs
- Recommendations from music teachers or private instructors
Important Notes:
- Do not register until your scholarship award is confirmed.
- Most decisions are made within 3–5 business days.
- Applications are due one week before the Friday prior to camp.
Scholarships are made possible by the generosity of local music education supporters. Please apply only if you truly have financial need, so these funds remain available for families who need them most.
Don’t need financial support?
You can still apply for a scholarship if you’re able to recruit at least two full-tuition campers.
